The Monsters are heading to Wii, so gather your friends and head online
|
There’s one game that has got the whole of the Wii community talking at the moment which isn’t being developed by Nintendo. That game is Monster Hunter Tri, and it’s easy to see why everyone is talking about it. Essentially, this is the first true online experience on Wii. We’re not talking dip-in, dip-out racing online, or one off matches online. This is a true, living, breathing world which can be explored online with 3 other friends, and one which doesn’t involve farming or paying off rent. This is a true gamers’ game through and through, and finally, it’s reaching it’s release date. Monster Hunter Tri is best described as an Action RPG, in the sense that the game is entirely action based, but defeating more powerful monsters allows you to level up in terms of weapons and armour. The basic premise is that you live in a world populated by huge monsters, who could kill a normal person just by looking at them. The world isn’t just populated by giants, with the rest of the world being home to smaller creatures which you can dispatch of easily if you need health or things for new weapons. |

Every time we hear something new about this game it makes it sound even better. Great online, and a great premise make this one of the most promising games to arrive on the Wii in quite some time

Monster Hunter Tri sees you working as a bounty hunter, collecting various bounties on the monsters that roam the land. The game is an action orientated RPG, and was extremely popular in Japan. It will also feature 4 player co-op online, with Wii Speak support. The game will come in 3 variations - on it's own, with the Classic Controller Pro, or with both the Classic Controller Pro and Wii Speak.
