Old patent for a horse-riding peripheral for the Wii revealed

Let it never be said that Nintendo do not explore every avenue of creativity. Today, one of Nintendo's more bizarre patents for the Wii has been brought to light, and it looks like an early predecessor to the Wii Balance Board concept.

Wii Horse-Riding?!

The peripheral is stated to be used for horse-riding, and is rather unique. The principle is simple. It's a small inflatable cushion with a Wii Remote dock, allowing you to move side-to-side to move your on-screen horse. The Nunchuck plugs in to act as reins.

Good fun to be had by all on an inflatable cushion-thing

It's an incredibly unique idea, and seems to be like an early idea for the Balance Board. What do you think of the idea?

Finally, it is important to note that this is most likely no longer in development, so don't get your hopes up. It is simply a patent that was most likely registered around Wii launch as part of Nintendo's likely massive library of ideas.
